Valentine’s Day is just one of those extra special days to celebrate love with your close ones, though thanks to societal norm, it has solidified itself more as a couple’s only occasion.  But who says you need to have a date or a plus one to enjoy V-day?

Just Love Yourself!

Taking this time to give yourself some love is one of the best things that you can do for your health! It helps with your self-esteem and you will learn to be present [1]. Just like the Law of Attraction, what you give or think about will reflect the outcome you will receive. So the more love you give to yourself, you will receive more love from the world. Time to cut yourself some slack because you are made from love and deserve more tender loving care for yourself!

1. Head to the Zumba Fitness Party

At cafes such as Clawset Café and Hop Hop Café, you can ogle, pet and play with the animals while relaxing with a cup of coffee! They will cheer you up and love you no matter what!

4. Have a Secret Cupid gift exchange

It’s just like Secret Santa but for the singles on Valentine’s Day. Use websites such as Secret Santa Elf and Draw Names that will automatically sort the names and inform you on the gift budget by sending an email to whoever that’s included in the gift exchange. Then, have a singles-only soiree to reveal the names and gifts!

Those late nights of studying, working and partying is taking a toll on your body and it shows from your skin. Give your skin a break with a moisturizing and deep cleansing facial to clear the clogged pores and rejuvenate your face! If you’re not able to get an appointment, DIY some homemade mask and treatments at home!

6. Learn to Hula Hoop Dance

Hooping is not just for games! Try out one of Michelle Tan’s classes and be prepared to sweat and dance with the hoop like you never thought you would!

7. Karaoke your stress away!

Having the microphone all to yourself while all singing all of your favourite tunes as loud as you can is one of the best stress relievers! But hey, if you need backup singers you could always ring up your gang of single friends and sing your hearts out together!

9. Volunteer

10. Mani-pedi time

The sight of perfectly painted nails just makes everything better! Some places also offer manicure and pedicure services for men. Yep, you may be a macho mister, but your hands need some TLC too! Tip is to look for reputable nail salons which cleans and sterilizes their tools after every customer to ensure you get a comfortable and safe experience.

11. All about the boardgames

Gather your family or single friends and check out all the awesome boardgames and cardgames in Meeples- European Boardgame Café or Boardgame Depot all day! Not only can you de-stress but playing board games also helps prevent dementia.

12. Get a new hairdo!

How long has it been since your last hair cut? Since Chinese New Year is around the corner too, it’s a good time to get a new hairdo! Whether you want to go for a new colour style like an ombre or a shorter length ala Jennifer Lawrence, you’ll walk out of the salon feeling renewed!

13. Have afternoon tea

14. Take a solo getaway

The thought of it is a little daunting but you’ll be able to relax and take your time to sight-see and explore without worrying about anyone’s opinion. It could also help you get out of your comfort zone and make new friends on the way!

Treat yourself to a nice seat at the movies (We suggest the Beanieplex or the Gold Class!) and catch the latest flicks if you haven’t had the time to hit the cinemas. Also, it’s your day so if you rather stay home and binge watch some movies and TV series instead, that’s great too! While you’re at it, why not whip up some of these healthy snacks to go with it!
